Concert Review: Santana

Carlos Santana wrapped up his 2008 'Live Your Light' tour in the San Francisco Bay Area on October 11th. He treated fans to a set filled with old and new favorites, and even a brand new song "Shape Shifter". Carlos' son's group, The Salvador Santana band opened the show and warmed up the crowd. As soon as Santana hit the stage, he wasted no time, opening up with the fan favorite "Jingo". Throughout the evening, Carlos spoke of the current economic crisis that is gripping the country. He told the hometown crowd not to 'buy-in' to the fear surrounding us, but fill their lives with love. His music seems to transcend all political and economic problems, and to truly take you somewhere else. Having seen Carlos live many time, it was a treat seeing some of the rarer choices of the even, such as when Tom Coster joined the band onstage for "Europa". I'm sure the 20,000 plus in attendance at the Shoreline Amphitheater would agree, no matter who is in office, Santana will always be there to get us through the tough times.

New Slayer Song Psychopathy Red available for Streaming

The brand new song from thrash legends Slayer, "Psychopathy Red", is now available for streaming below. Slayer's new album is expected to be released in Summer of 2009.

Another new Slayer clip posted

Another new Slayer clip has been posted of them working on their new song "Psychopathy Red" in the studio. The albums is expected to be released in Summer of 2009.

Slayer is currently out touring on the Unholy Alliance III Tour in Europe.

New Slayer Song Clip: "Psychopathy Red"

A new video of Slayer working on a brand new track, "Psychopathy Red", has been posted online. The video shows the band tracking with engineer Greg Fiddleman. Slayer's new album is expected to be released in Summer of 2009.

Britney sets record setting jump on Billboard Hot 100

Britney Spears makes a near-maximum 96-1 rise with "Womanizer," returning to the top of the list for the first time since her debut single "...Baby One More Time" hit No. 1 in January 1999.

This is the third time in the past two months that the mark for the biggest jump to No. 1 has been shattered. On the Hot 100 dated Sept. 6, T.I. soared 71-1 with "Whatever You Like" and last week he sprinted 80-1 with "Live Your Life."

Spears' single is spurred by first-week download sales of 286,000, the biggest opening-week tally by a female artist since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking digital downloads in 2003, besting Mariah Carey's take for "Touch My Body" by just over 200 units.

In between her nearly 10-year gap between No. 1s, Spears has placed four other top 10s on the Hot 100, the last being "Gimme More," the first single from her last set, "Blackout." That song jumped 68-3 last October with first-week download sales of 179,000.
